May delights

May brings us understated vegetables & fruits, such as cauliflower, celeriac and quinces, but with a little imagination they can be brought alive and made truly delectable.
We had a beautiful mother’s day lunch at Lavandula
Farm in Hepburn Springs, lunch there never seems to disappoint. So glad we booked though as they were turning people away at 2pm citing a 1 hr wait for food. The food is rustic Italian and the abundant antipasto platter comes well recommended.  We also had pork belly which was glazed with quince and served with sauteed silverbeet and slow braised goat, with chickpeas and rosemary polenta wedges.
